Schmeling Building Supply's roots reach back to the late 1800s, when Emil Wilhelm Schmeling founded Schmeling & Broitzmann General Contracting. By the early 1920s, EW moved operations to 1031 School Street — the same address we've called home ever since. Through four generations of Schmelings, the yard has survived the Great Depression, the rise of big-box stores, and everything in between.
Today, John Schmeling leads a team dedicated to the same values EW built on: quality materials, expert service, and a deep knowledge of the craft that no chain store can replicate.
